Our Aerobics Class

I teach an aerobics class at our church every Monday morning. We workout in the gym and the kids just run and play. It is a ton of fun and I just wanted to thank all of the girls that come. Whether you are a regular, or you have only been once or twice, I have really enjoyed hanging out and getting to know you all better.
All the girls are so supportive as I fumble my way through "instructing". I am really glad that we have this class and hope we get more coming out. We love having new people join us and anyone is welcome. Just remember, you get what you pay for!

Old & Busted ... New Hotness

Did you ever see the movie Men in Black 2? Will Smith is trying to get Tommy Lee Jones to remember that he fought aliens and as they are going to the car, Tommy Lee says (I'm paraphrasing), "I do remember that I always drove." To which Will Smith replies, "Yeah, when we drove that old, busted car. I drive now." He points to Tommy Lee and repeats, "old and busted", points to himself, "new hotness." Remember that movie? Since then Jamie has referred to himself as old and busted and that I am new hotness. Well duh. Jacob has picked up on that and can tell you that his dad is old and busted and his mom is new hotness.
I tell you that story so I can tell you this one. Over the weekend, we had Stake Conference and Richard G. Scott was the visiting authority. There were some great talks and it was two good days of church. After the Sunday morning session, Elder Scott was in the foyer shaking hands and we thought it was a great opportunity for Jacob to meet one of the apostles. He was so kind. He shook Jacob's hand and asked him if he was going to serve a mission, and Jacob said, "Yup." Elder Scott smiled and told him that was good. He then shook my hand and thanked us for coming. He looked down at Jacob and said, "Did you know that you have a beautiful mother?" Jacob just nodded and said, "Yup." I just smiled and then I hear Jacob add, "that's why she's new hotness!"
Fortunately, Jacob is short and Elder Scott is on in years and probably doesn't hear everything. I don't think he heard him. None the less, nothing makes a mom prouder than her 4 year old telling a GA that she is "new hotness".

Wanna know how my weekend was?

By the fact that you are still reading, I'm going to say, yes you do. So, on Thursday afternoon I was driving up to CPMC to visit my friend Lisa and her darling new baby when my check engine light came on. I thought, "maybe it doesn't really mean it" and kept going. When we left the hospital, the light was still on and starting to not feel right. I was meeting my friend Josie at Seton to pick up her little boy while she had a minor procedure. As I was getting off the freeway, my car started shaking. Not cool. When I came to a stoplight, it stalled. I got it going again and we made it to Seton, got Charlie and were headed straight to the dealership to drop the car off. Whenever I was at a light, or had to slow down, it started to sputter again. By now I was totally annoyed because about 2 weeks ago I had taken my car in for the big 30,000 mile overhaul and now here I was praying to make it 3 more miles.
I got as far as Juniperro Serra and Westbourough in SSF and it totally died. There was no bringing it back this time. Fortunately I had my long time babysitter and friend, Chelsea, with me so I wasn't alone with 3 kids. I called my friend Christa that I know from the SSF ward and lived just a few blocks away. She saved me! She came and picked up the 3 kids and Chels, took them back to her house, and let them hang out there while I waited for the tow truck and dealt with the car.
I was towed to the dealership and after I gave them all the info, the guy asks "are you going to need a ride somewhere?" to which I responded, "I have kids I need to go pick up, I need a car." They were all out of loaners so he called Enterprise. A guy came and picked me up took me to the Enterprise place and got me situated with a piecer that I drove until Friday afternoon. That's when the dealership guy FINALLY returned my call to say they still have not looked at my car but he had one of his cars now so to come by and make the switch.
So here we are to Sunday afternoon, I am now driving a Prius (it is weird to get used to), and a part will be coming in on Monday or Tuesday that may or may not fix the problem. I think the darlings that took care of my car last time, didn't tighten a cap properly, it blew, the engine lost pressure, and now my car doesn't work. Who knows, maybe Toyota will be buying me a new car when all is said and done, but probably not.

This Kid Makes the Funniest Faces

He cracks me up with some of the faces he pulls!
The best part is that he isn't doing it on purpose or trying to be funny -- imagine when he is!

Our Christmas Report

My parents came to us this year. We had a great time. I'm not sure who was more excited about them coming, the boys, or Grandma and Grandpa. We had the best of both worlds because we didn't have to travel, but we still got to be with family for Christmas.

I finally got a picture of them together before they had to go to the airport.

This was pretty much Christmas. We didn't leave the house all day, Jacob just played with his new train additions and Parker was just happy digging through stuff. It was a very laid back and quiet Christmas day.

The rest of the time however, we did all kinds of fun stuff.

We spent a night in Union Square. Mom worked at Macy's for over 4 years when they lived here just after they were married. It was fun to get to hear how much has changed.
Jacob and Grandpa shared a banana split, though I think Jacob ended eating most of it. They were stealing ice cream out of each others spoons.
We met up with Merrill and Lisa at the Oakland Temple to enjoy the lights, it was windy but fun.
On Christmas Eve, we went to Muir Woods. Jamie and I had never been and it was a good excuse with visitors here.
It was kind of a strange Christmas Eve activity, but is was really nice to take some time out of the crazy and think of the Savior and His creations.
We had a great time and I really appreciated Mom and Dad leaving their house to come celebrate at ours. They were here for 10 days and we loved every minute of it.
