Finally ...
I had hoped to get the boys' pictures done at the end of August, I guess the end of September will have to do.
The brothers.
Jacob did AWESOME. We got his pictures on the first try and then he was a great help with Parker, who was not so awesome. I can't really blame the poor baby though, the girl was nice but a little painful. She kept scaring Parker and making him cry because she was a little loud and in his face. We really had to work for his. Jacob's four year picture.

Like A Good Neighbor
What would we do without good neighbors? We have a very kind woman that lives next door. She is happy to talk when we see each other and is interested in the boys. In passing, we mentioned it was Jacob's birthday, and two days later, there was a gift from her on the porch, so nice.
It's not just immediate neightbors either. A few days ago, I needed milk to make dinner, but alas, I had none. I just didn't have it in me to drag the boys through the store for a 1/2 cup of milk. Our neighbor wasn't home, so I loaded the boys in the car, and drove 3 blocks to Josie's house. I ran in, said hi, got my milk, and headed home. It wasn't much, but it saved me. (I used to do the same thing with Lisa, before she moved.)
After I returned home and finished dinner, I was so grateful for good friends and neighbors that aide in saving my sanity and are just enjoyable to be around.

The Shark Party
Here are a few pictures from Jacob's shark party this weekend. It was a blast! Jamie designed, constructed, and decorated the cake -- it looked awesome. Thank you to all that helped me before, during, and after the party. Jacob had a GREAT day. He kept saying, "that was such a a fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, party!" He even thanked me for it.

Happy Birthday Jacob!!
Today is the Big 4! It was four years ago today that Jamie and I went to Mt. Timpanogos Hospital in Orem, UT and we welcomed our first born at 6:21pm. Jacob is sporting his birthday crown from pre-school yesterday.
Here is Jacob on the day he was born, after getting cleaned up. (After this picture, we thought for sure he was going to be a soccer player like his dad. Then he took his soccer class last spring and that might not be the case, as he was more interested in picking flowers for me and helping Coach clean up.)
Jacob is crazy and that is why we love him, he fits perfectly into the family. He loves his brother, his friends, his cousins, and the garbage. We are so grateful he is part of our family!

Parker Laughing
This is my first video post and I'm very excited. Jacob was being silly and Parker thought it was hilarious! No one gets Parker to laugh like Jacob does, he loves that brother.

The Difference a Year Makes
This is Jacob last year on his first day of school in the Junior class at preschool.
This is Jacob today on his way to his first day in the Senior class.
He had a great first day. He knew a few of the kids, but there were a lot of new ones because we changed from TTH to MWF. (A huge thanks to Lisa for making it possible for the change. There were lots that wanted to switch to MWF, but there were not many spots. I was in the hospital having Parker when the form was given to the parents for fall registration. It was first come, first serve. Lisa called me after she picked up Jacob and offered to fill out the form and turn it right back in. Because she was so speedy, we got right in. Yeah Lisa!) I was very proud of Jacob, even though he was a little nervous because there were so many people and things were a little different, he was a champ and went in without hesitation. At this point I'm not sure who is more excited that school has started, me or Jacob.Sunday, September 2, 2007
Temptation on Fast Sunday
We went to church thinking it was going to be like any other Sunday. Then we pulled into the parking lot and saw the Weinermobile! That's right, the official Oscar Meyer Weinermobile.
At first Jamie thought he was just so hungry from fasting that he was now seeing things (which is an odd hallucination becasuse he doesn't really like hot dogs, but a giant donut car -- now we're talkin'). It turned out, the guy that drives it was visiting our ward today. Fortunately, I had my camera in the diaper bag so we could capture the magic of a 50 foot motorized celebration of mystery meat.
